Fortinet · Choosing Your Partner

The Hardware Decision Is Five Minutes. The Partner Decision Is Five Years.

A FortiGate firewall protects every connection going in and out of your business. When it's working properly, nobody notices. When it isn't, or when it was misconfigured from day one, you find out the hard way.

🔧
Wrong configuration protects nothing
A FortiGate configured by someone in a hurry creates a false sense of security. Policies that look right in the GUI but leave lateral movement paths open are common in deployments without proper commissioning.
📋
Licence gaps leave you exposed silently
A FortiCare or FortiGuard subscription that wasn't renewed on time quietly stops delivering threat intelligence updates. The unit continues to function — but threat signatures freeze at the expiry date.
🔄
Firmware lifecycle is a continuous job
Fortinet issues firmware updates regularly. Some are routine. Some address active exploits. Knowing which requires reading the FortiGuard advisories and PSIRT notifications — not waiting for someone to notice.
🏗️
End-of-life migration takes planning
When hardware reaches end-of-support, firmware patches stop, FortiCare RMA expires, and compliance audits flag the device. Migration planned ahead of that date costs a fraction of emergency replacement.
📦
Genuine registration matters more than ever
From FortiOS 7.6.5, unregistered FortiGate devices operate in read-only CLI mode — configuration changes are blocked until the device is registered to a FortiCare account. Grey-market hardware becomes unmaintainable.
📞
Post-sale response separates real partners
When a firewall policy blocks a production application at 8AM on Monday, the question is not whether your supplier exists — it's whether they answer. Vector Dubai AMC includes WhatsApp escalation to engineers who know your specific deployment.

Fortinet Is More Than the Firewall

The moment you connect a FortiSwitch behind your FortiGate, you stop managing two products and start managing one converged platform. Add FortiAP and it extends to Wi-Fi. Add FortiAnalyzer and every event is correlated from one console. The Security Fabric is the whole stack — and Vector Dubai supplies and supports it end to end.

Pre-Sales Sizing
The wrong FortiGate is the second-most-expensive mistake in network security. We size based on actual user count, link bandwidth, application mix, and SSL inspection requirement — not on what the brochure says the model can do in lab conditions. A model too small bottlenecks production. A model too large wastes capital.
No-Obligation Sizing
⚙️
Installation & Configuration
Firewall policies, NAT, IPSec and SSL VPN setup, SD-WAN across Etisalat and du circuits, application control, web filtering, SSL deep inspection, FortiGuard activation, FortiAnalyzer integration. Installation in Dubai is typically completed within one working day. Same standard across all 7 emirates, DMCC, DIFC and JLT.

FortiCare & FortiGuard Licensing
Initial registration, multi-year licence purchase, renewal date alignment across multi-site deployments, and the renewal portal mechanics — handled. Every unit arrives registered to your organisation from day one. If your previous supplier missed a renewal window, Vector Dubai handles the reinstatement process with Fortinet.

Annual Maintenance Contract
Vector Dubai AMC sits above FortiCare. We add locally-handled engineering response, on-site labour for in-scope changes, WhatsApp escalation to engineers who know your specific deployment, and RMA logistics managed through the Dubai office rather than international Fortinet channels. Scope is documented before you sign.

Patch & Firmware Management
Fortinet issued eight critical security advisories with confirmed exploitation in the wild across 2025 and early 2026 — affecting FortiOS, FortiWeb, FortiVoice, FortiMail, FortiSIEM, FortiClient EMS and FortiCloud SSO. Knowing which patches require immediate action versus which can wait for a planned maintenance window is the job. We manage the cadence.

Audit & Configuration Review
For networks whose FortiGate was configured years ago by someone no longer with the business — a clean review uncovers what's running, what's redundant, what's misconfigured, and what's quietly exposing the network. Fortinet · 2025–2026 Platform Updates

What's Actually Changing in Fortinet Right Now

Fortinet's product portfolio has moved more in the last twelve months than in the prior three years. A purchase decision made in 2024 against a 2024 product map produces a different outcome than the same decision made today. These are the changes that affect what you should buy and how it should be deployed.

1
FortiGate 100F EOL Announced — January 16, 2026
Fortinet confirmed end-of-life for the FortiGate 100F on January 16, 2026. End of Sale milestone: April 2026. The FortiGate 100E reaches End of Support on August 17, 2026. If you're running either model, the upgrade window is now — before FortiCare RMA and firmware updates stop. The recommended replacement is the FortiGate 120G or 121G.
Act Before April 2026
2
SSL VPN Removed From 2GB RAM Models on FortiOS 7.6
From FortiOS 7.6.0 onward, SSL VPN tunnel mode and web mode are no longer supported on FortiGate models with 2GB RAM — this includes the 40F, 60E, 60F, 80E, 90E, and Rugged 60F. The new 90G series does not support SSL VPN at all by design. Remote workers on SSL VPN need migration to IPsec or ZTNA before the firmware upgrade. Vector Dubai handles this migration assessment.
Check Your Model
3
Unregistered FortiGate Devices Are Now Read-Only
From FortiOS 7.6.5, an unregistered FortiGate operates in read-only CLI mode — configuration changes are blocked until the device is registered to a FortiCare account. This makes grey-market hardware and parallel imports functionally unmaintainable. Every FortiGate Vector Dubai supplies is registered to your organisation at delivery, with the FortiCare contract attached from day one.
Genuine Supply Only
4
FortiAI Is Now Embedded Across the Security Fabric
The April 2025 Accelerate announcement extended FortiAI across the full platform. FortiAI-Assist provides GenAI-driven SecOps automation — config generation, policy validation, and troubleshooting in natural language. FortiAI-Protect adds real-time detection of AI application usage across 6,500+ AI URLs with shadow-AI control. These capabilities arrive on FortiOS, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and FortiSIEM.
Included in FortiOS 7.6
5
FortiSASE Sovereign — UAE IA Standards Deadline 2026
Fortinet launched Sovereign SASE as a deployment option where the SASE infrastructure runs in-jurisdiction rather than in international cloud regions. For UAE federal and emirate-level entities working against the IA Standards compliance milestone, Sovereign SASE satisfies data residency requirements without sacrificing the SASE security model. Procurement timelines have compressed — talk to Vector Dubai now.
End-2026 Deadline
6
Wi-Fi 7 Has Arrived in the FortiAP Line
The FortiAP 231K and 441KF models bring Wi-Fi 7 to the Fortinet wireless portfolio. UAE hotels, schools, retail chains, and free zone offices running 2018–2020 wireless gear are in the natural refresh cycle now. Wi-Fi 7 delivers substantially higher throughput and device density than Wi-Fi 6E — refresh decisions made in 2026 should default to Wi-Fi 7 for the deployment lifecycle.
FortiAP 231K · 441KF
If you're carrying a quote that's more than three months old — refresh it.
A quote issued in Q4 2024 was sized against a product map that has since moved. The 100F EOL announcement, the SSL VPN removal, and the G-series launch all affect the right answer for most mid-market deployments. That conversation takes ten minutes on WhatsApp — and Vector Dubai returns the updated recommendation the same day.
FortiGate · End-of-Life & Migration

The Hardware You Bought in 2019 Is the Hardware Reaching End-of-Support Now

Several mid-market FortiGate models that were the standard installs across UAE businesses in 2018–2021 have confirmed EOL timelines. The migration path runs to the G-series — and the decision window is measured in months.

⚠️
Active End-of-Life Timelines — Fortinet UAE
The following FortiGate models have confirmed or approaching end-of-support dates. After the EOS date: no firmware patches, no FortiGuard updates, no FortiCare RMA, and compliance audits will flag the hardware as unsupported. The unit continues to function — but the network it's protecting is operating without coverage.

Migrate to G-series now when:
  • Your FortiGate is a 100F, 100E, 60E, 40F, 30E, or 200E
  • Your FortiCare renewal is coming up in the next 6 months
  • Your network is running FortiOS 7.4 and you need SSL VPN on a 2GB RAM model
  • A compliance audit is scheduled and the auditor will check firmware support dates
  • You're adding users or bandwidth and the current model is approaching its ceiling
Staying on F-series still makes sense when:
  • Your model (80F, 200F, 400F, 600F) is not in the current EOL window
  • FortiCare is current and renewed beyond the next 12 months
  • You're on FortiOS 7.4 and not upgrading imminently
  • Your deployment was sized recently and is not approaching any throughput ceiling

What Auditors and Regulators Expect to See

UAE businesses in regulated sectors face overlapping requirements that must be built into the network architecture from day one. Adjusting Fortinet configurations retroactively during an audit is more expensive and more disruptive than getting the deployment right at installation.

🇦🇪
UAE IA Standards
Federal cybersecurity standards mandating controls across government and critical-infrastructure entities. FortiGate deployments require specific logging retention, access control mechanisms, and incident response readiness. The 2026 IA Standards compliance milestone — including mandatory migration of public workloads to in-jurisdiction hosting — is compressing procurement timelines. FortiSASE Sovereign is the solution.
2026 Deadline
🏥
ADHICS (Abu Dhabi Healthcare)
The Abu Dhabi Healthcare Information and Cyber Security Standard requires network segmentation, patient data protection controls, and audit logging. Healthcare clients receive FortiGate configurations aligned to ADHICS controls from initial deployment — not retrofitted when the audit date arrives.

National Electronic Security Authority cybersecurity standards applicable to critical infrastructure operators. Sectoral applicability varies — oil and gas, energy, water, transport, and financial services are primary sectors. Vector Dubai confirms NESA applicability during the deployment scoping conversation.

FortiCare Registration — Why It Matters for Export
From FortiOS 7.6.5, unregistered FortiGate devices operate in read-only CLI mode — meaning hardware sourced through parallel imports or grey-market channels becomes functionally unmaintainable after firmware upgrade. Every unit exported by Vector Dubai is registered to the buyer organisation at dispatch, with FortiCare attached and confirmed before the shipment leaves Dubai.
FAQ · Common Buyer Questions

Questions Before You Decide

Is Vector Dubai an authorised Fortinet partner?
Yes. Vector Dubai is an authorised Fortinet partner operating from Dubai since 2010. Every FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP and FortiCare licence supplied is genuine, registered to the buyer organisation, and warranty-attached from day one of delivery.
How much does a FortiGate firewall cost in Dubai?
FortiGate pricing depends on the model, the bundle term, and whether the unit ships as hardware-only or bundled with FortiCare and FortiGuard licensing. Entry-tier 40F and 60F models start from around AED 1,500 hardware-only and reach AED 7,500 with 3-year UTP bundles. Mid-tier 100F and 120G models range from AED 8,500 to AED 28,000 depending on bundle. Enterprise units are quoted per project. Final pricing is confirmed against current Fortinet list and bundle selection — WhatsApp for a same-day AED quote.
My existing FortiGate is a 60E or 100E — what should I do?
Both models are approaching or have reached Fortinet end-of-support. The FortiGate 100E reaches end-of-support on August 17, 2026. The 60E is past its standard support window. The recommended migration path runs to the G-series — the 90G replaces the 60F and 60E band, and the 120G replaces the 100F and 100E band. Vector Dubai handles the full migration including configuration transfer, FortiAnalyzer log preservation, parallel-running cutover, and rollback planning.
Do you only sell hardware or do you also install and configure?
Installation and configuration is the default service, not an add-on. A FortiGate shipped without proper configuration protects nothing. Standard deployment includes initial setup, firewall policies, VPN configuration, SD-WAN if applicable, FortiGuard activation, FortiAnalyzer integration where applicable, and a knowledge transfer to your internal IT team. AMC contracts cover ongoing changes and patch management after the initial deployment.
What happened to SSL VPN on FortiGate after the FortiOS 7.6 update?
From FortiOS 7.6.0 onward, SSL VPN tunnel mode and web mode are no longer supported on FortiGate models with 2GB RAM. This includes the FortiGate 40F, 60E, 60F, 80E, 90E, and Rugged 60F. The new 90G series does not support SSL VPN at all by design. The migration path runs to IPsec VPN (still supported) or FortiGate ZTNA. Vector Dubai assesses the impact on your specific deployment before any firmware upgrade is recommended — the hardware may also need replacing depending on your VPN architecture.
Which UAE emirates do you cover for Fortinet deployments?
All seven — Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah — plus DMCC, DIFC, JLT, Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai South, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and the major free zones in the northern emirates. On-site response times vary by geography. Remote configuration and support is available across the UAE the same day.
What is the difference between FortiCare UTP, ATP, and Enterprise Bundle?
UTP (Unified Threat Protection) is the standard bundle covering IPS, antivirus, web filtering, application control, and FortiCare support. ATP (Advanced Threat Protection) adds FortiSandbox cloud-based detection for unknown and advanced threats. Enterprise Bundle is the most complete tier and includes additional capabilities such as Industrial Security, IoT Detection, and ZTNA Standalone. The right bundle depends on your sector, compliance posture, and threat profile — Vector Dubai confirms the right choice during pre-sales.
We already have a Fortinet supplier — can we switch to Vector Dubai at renewal?
Yes. FortiCare and FortiGuard renewals can be transferred to a new authorised partner at the renewal date. Vector Dubai handles the partner transfer mechanics with Fortinet and the customer experiences no service interruption. Switching partners at renewal is a routine event in the Fortinet channel — the process takes a few days administratively and requires no hardware changes.
Can you export Fortinet hardware to Kenya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia or other countries?
Yes, subject to Fortinet export controls and applicable trade regulations. Vector Dubai exports to 43 countries across the Middle East, Central Asia, East Africa, West Africa, and South Asia. Active export destinations include Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Hardware ships with full FortiCare registration to the buyer organisation, documentation prepared for destination customs, and remote configuration support available post-delivery. WhatsApp the export team at +971 56 504 9685 for a shipping quote.
What is included in Vector Dubai's annual maintenance contract for Fortinet?
Vector Dubai AMC sits above FortiCare and adds locally-handled engineering response, on-site labour for in-scope changes, multi-channel support including WhatsApp escalation, RMA logistics managed through the Dubai office, firmware update planning and cadence management, and a configuration review at renewal. Scope is documented in writing before contract signature — what is and is not included is stated explicitly, with no surprise invoices during the year. The AMC scope discussion is part of the pre-sales conversation, not something you discover after signing.
Which companies supply genuine Fortinet hardware in Dubai?
Fortinet hardware sold in the UAE must come through an authorised Fortinet partner to be registerable under FortiCare. Vector Dubai is an authorised Fortinet partner operating from Dubai since 2010. Every unit supplied is genuine Fortinet hardware registered to the buyer organisation from the day of delivery, with FortiCare and FortiGuard licensing attached. The full range — FortiGate from 40F through 700G, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager — is available for deployment across all seven UAE emirates and for export to 43 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
Where can I get a Fortinet price quote in the UAE?
Vector Dubai provides AED-priced Fortinet quotes via WhatsApp at +971 56 504 9685, Monday to Saturday 8AM to 6PM. A model number, a user count, or a brief description of your network requirement is enough to start. The response includes the hardware recommendation, the FortiCare bundle options, and the AED price range — typically returned the same working day. The office is in Dubai and serves clients across all seven UAE emirates, DMCC, DIFC, JLT, and Jebel Ali Free Zone.

Tell Us What You're Running. We'll Quote Back the Same Day.
