Planning to Move Part of the Team Home? This Is the Phone-System Half of That Decision
More Dubai businesses are making a deliberate choice: part of the workforce stays home — permanently, or on a hybrid week — and the office runs leaner for it. The decision usually stalls on one operational question: what happens to the phones? Linkus is the answer built into the system you already run. Every home-based person keeps their extension and the company number, calls transfer between office and home desks as if they sat one row apart, and the receptionist — human or AI — routes to people, not places. Your work-from-home setup needs no second phone system, no call forwarding to personal mobiles, and no customer ever hearing the difference.
Management keeps its eyes too: presence shows who is available wherever they sit, call logs and recordings cover home-based staff exactly as they cover the office, and a new remote work setup for a joining employee is a ten-minute provisioning task, not an IT project. That is business continuity communication as a permanent design, not an emergency measure — the office number answered professionally from wherever your team works, on any day, for any reason. Tell us how many people are moving home and we will map the setup the same business day.
For the Owner Who Runs the Business From Airports
There is a second person this page was written for: the manager, the CEO, the owner whose week crosses emirates and time zones — and who still has to be reachable on the office number, still has to reach the team, and still closes deals from wherever the day lands. Linkus makes the travelling boss a full presence in the building: your extension rings in your pocket between meetings, you dial out showing the company number, you see at a glance who on the team is free and transfer a caller to them as if you were standing at their desk. Voicemails and call recordings wait in the app for the flight home. The business gets a leader who never went missing; the leader gets a phone system that finally travels at their speed.
The Call Doesn't Care Where You're Sitting
A buyer calls your office number. The desk phone rings in an empty office. He hangs up, dials the next name on his list, and your team never finds out — because nothing records a caller who reached no one. That is the entire problem Linkus exists to end. In plain words: Linkus is the companion app family of the Yeastar P-Series IP PABX phone system — your same extension, your same business number, running as an app on your mobile, a softphone on your laptop, or a tab in your browser. Your team answers from wherever the day puts them, and every caller still meets your business — not somebody's personal mobile.
The privacy cut runs both ways, and it is the part owners care about most: your staff never expose their personal numbers to clients, because the office number is what dials out. When a salesperson eventually moves on, the client relationships do not leave the building on a personal phone — the clients never had that number. The page below is the full map: the three apps, the features that shipped quietly in the last twelve months, what rides on which plan, and how setup actually works in the UAE.
Three Apps, One Extension
Linkus is not one app — it is one extension wearing three suits. Pick per person, or run all three at once; presence, contacts, call logs and voicemails stay in sync across them, because underneath they are the same extension on the same system.
Working From Home, Answering Like You're Not
The hybrid week is the normal week now: two days in Business Bay, one at home, one between emirates, one nobody planned. Linkus makes location irrelevant to the caller. Your presence follows rules you set — business hours switch you between Available and Away automatically, and a temporary status can carry its own expiry time, so "school pickup, back at four" reverts to Available by itself instead of haunting tomorrow. Mid-call, call flip moves the conversation from desk phone to mobile without the caller hearing a thing — the office-to-car-to-home handover that used to mean "let me call you back."
For whoever carries the P&L, there is a quieter December gift: the Active Call Panel shows every live call and extension state in real time, from one screen. Not surveillance theatre — accountability. When a client says "we called three times," you check instead of guessing.
Features You Are Already Entitled To — Switched On at Handover
Yeastar ships features through firmware and app release notes; marketing pages stay thin, and everyone downstream copies the thin page. We read the release notes — it is part of what you are buying. Here is what the 3 December 2025 update (P-Series firmware 84.21) actually added to Linkus:
Calls That Write Their Own Notes
Two AI features now live inside Linkus, and both arrived quietly. AI call transcription (September 2025) writes the call as readable text in real time and leaves a summary when it ends — the pricing agreed on a call is no longer a memory contest. AI voicemail transcription (July 2025) turns voicemail into text you can read in a meeting, synced across all three apps.
The honest plan note, because this is where quotes get padded: both run on the P-Series Software and Cloud editions and are billed by transcription minutes as an add-on — they are not free, and anyone who implies otherwise is selling. Whether the minutes are worth it depends on how your team actually uses the phone, and that is a five-minute conversation, not a discovery call. The full AI picture lives on our call transcription page, and if what you want answered is the phone itself rather than the notes, that is the AI receptionist — a different machine.
The Small Things That Change Daily Work
Not headline features — the ones a team actually feels by Friday. All current as of the 2025–26 releases, all verified against Yeastar's own release notes.
What Linkus Costs — the Version Without Surprises
Here is the sentence to hold on to: the Linkus apps themselves are not a line item. There is no per-user licence for the mobile, desktop or web client — they ride on the plan your Yeastar P-Series already runs. What the plan changes is which doors are open: Standard covers the UC essentials including secure remote access; Enterprise adds the call-center consoles, omnichannel messaging and CRM/Microsoft 365 integrations; Ultimate adds video conferencing, Active Directory integration, the Linkus SDK and disaster recovery. AI transcription and voicemail transcription sit outside the plans as per-minute add-ons on the Software and Cloud editions.
So the real question is never "what does Linkus cost" — it is "which plan does the way we work need." A ten-person office that just wants extensions on mobiles is a different answer from a fifty-seat floor that wants queues, wallboards and transcription. Both answers are quick, and we will give you yours on WhatsApp with the plan named and the reasoning attached. If you are still choosing the system underneath, the range, editions and pricing live on the Yeastar PBX page.
New Starter to Live Extension in Minutes — No Site Visit
Provisioning is a QR code, not a truck roll. A welcome email or a scanned code signs the app into the right extension; presence, ring strategy, voicemail and contacts follow the profile we set per user. Remote access runs through Yeastar's own encrypted tunnel — no VPN to maintain, no router ports opened to the internet, no static-IP gymnastics with your operator. Signalling and media ride TLS/SRTP, two-factor login is available, and if your accounts live in Microsoft or Google, SSO-only mode removes passwords from the picture entirely.
Our part is the configuration that makes it yours: who rings where, what shows on outgoing calls, which features each role gets, and a one-page user guide per team at handover. Done remotely, usually same day — across Dubai and all seven emirates.
Will It Work on Etisalat and du?
Yes — and it is a fair question in this country, so here is the straight version. Linkus is not a consumer calling service hunting for a loophole; it is your own business phone system's extension, connecting back to your own PBX over whatever internet path the phone has — office WiFi, home broadband, or mobile data. It carries your licensed office number, your operator relationship stays exactly as it is, and nothing about the arrangement asks the network to be anything other than the internet connection it already is.
Call quality follows the data path, so we treat it as an engineering fact rather than a promise: since June 2026 the app files a per-call quality report, and at commissioning we test on your actual sites — the office WiFi, the home connection, the road — before handover, not after a complaint.
Works With What Your Team Already Uses
Linkus does not ask your team to change habits — it moves into them. Microsoft Teams: install Yeastar Linkus from AppSource and full calling lives inside the Teams window — no middleware, and no Teams calling licence to buy, which is where the real money is saved. Outlook: click any contact to call, get a popup with the caller's card on inbound, and every call journals itself into Outlook automatically. Your browser: the Linkus Chrome extension spots phone numbers on any webpage and turns them into one-click calls. Your CRM: Zoho, Salesforce, HubSpot, Bitrix24 and Odoo integrate for screen-pop on inbound calls and automatic call logging — the caller's history on screen before you say hello. Your headsets: plug-and-play control for HID-compliant corded and wireless models — answer, hold and mute from the earcup itself. Some integrations ride the higher P-Series plans; we confirm the fit against your plan in the quote, line by line.
