Open the gateway and the mechanism is almost domestic: SIM slots, like a row of phones without screens. Your Etisalat or du business SIM goes into a channel. The TG ladder runs 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 SIM channels — TG100, TG200, TG400, TG800, TG1600 — so the box follows your simultaneous-call count. Now the fact that decides most 2026 purchases, printed with the precision it deserves: on current-generation hardware, 4G LTE with VoLTE is supported across the TG200, TG400, TG800 and TG1600 — only the single-channel TG100 remains 2G/3G. The buying caution that comes with it, born of real stock in the market: earlier-generation TG hardware may carry GSM/3G modules only, and 4G on any chassis depends on the hardware generation and the cellular modules actually fitted. A GSM gateway is a radio, and radios reward respect. The units use external antennas, and the larger models — TG400, TG800, TG1600 — support a 4-in-1 antenna splitter, so the gateway can live in the server room while its antennas live where the signal actually is: the window line, the riser, the roof penetration that already exists. How many calls can it carry at once?
One call per SIM channel — that is the honest arithmetic of every GSM gateway ever made. A TG200 with two SIMs carries two simultaneous calls; a TG800 with eight SIMs carries eight. Size the box by your peak simultaneous mobile-trunk calls, not by how many people work in the office. Which models support 4G LTE?
Stated with the precision the question deserves: on current-generation hardware, 4G LTE with VoLTE is supported by the TG200, TG400, TG800 and TG1600 — the TG100 does not support 4G LTE. A naming note that clears most confusion: the L you see in the channel (TG200L, TG400L, TG800L) is not a different model — it is the same chassis fitted with an LTE cellular module, and the exact LTE bands depend on the module version installed. Earlier-generation TG hardware may support only GSM/3G, so we confirm the hardware generation, the fitted modules and the frequency bands against your operators before you buy. If long-term network life matters — and it should, as older mobile technologies retire — the 4G builds are the ones to buy, and we will say so even when the 2G unit is cheaper.
What does the L stand for in TG800L?
L stands for LTE — it is the distribution channel's way of marking the 4G build of a chassis, not a different product. A TG800L is the TG800 fitted with a 4G LTE cellular module, VoLTE included; the same logic gives you the TG200L and TG400L. Full SKUs go one step further and name the module itself — TG800L-EC21-EUX, for example, is the TG800 carrying a Quectel EC21 LTE module in its regional version, and it is the module version that sets the exact LTE bands the unit supports. You will also meet W (3G WCDMA) and G (2G GSM) builds under the same naming logic. Yeastar's own model name stays simply TG800 throughout. And one boundary worth repeating: L or not, these are cellular voice and SMS trunk gateways — not 4G internet routers. We match the module's bands to your operators before anything ships.
Should we buy a GSM gateway, an FXO gateway, or a SIP trunk?
Three different answers to three different situations. A SIP trunk is the default modern line — if fixed connectivity is available and your operator offers it, start there. An FXO gateway is for keeping existing analog lines in service on the new system. A GSM gateway earns its place in exactly three situations: as a continuity path that works when fixed services do not; at sites where fixed lines are not yet available; and for calls to mobile networks under your own operator's business plans. The mobile network is engineered, powered and towered independently of your building's fixed services — so a mobile trunk on the system gives your call flow a path that does not depend on the same cable, the same exchange or the same street cabinet as everything else. We configure it as a deliberate fallback: routing rules move outbound calls to the mobile trunk when fixed trunks are unavailable, and critical numbers stay reachable. What about mobile signal inside our building?
Solved at survey time, not discovered after. The gateways use external antennas, and the larger units — TG400, TG800, TG1600 — support a 4-in-1 antenna splitter, so the box can live in the server room while the antennas live where the signal does. During installation we measure signal at the antenna position per operator, place accordingly, and test calls on every channel before handover. A gateway installed without a signal survey is a support ticket waiting to happen; ours are installed with one.
Whose SIM cards go in the gateway?
Yours — always. You obtain business SIMs and plans from Etisalat or du in your company's name, under terms that match the intended use, and those SIMs go into the gateway. We advise on the plan conversation and configure call controls — including per-call duration limits and routing restrictions — so the system's behaviour stays inside what your plans allow. We do not supply SIMs, and a configuration is only complete when it matches the paperwork behind it.
What shows as caller ID when we dial out through it?
The SIM's own mobile number — stated plainly because it shapes how you use the trunk. Calls placed over a mobile channel present that channel's number, not your fixed office number. For continuity calling and site work that is perfectly acceptable; where your published office identity must show, those calls belong on your fixed or SIP trunks, and the routing rules we configure send each call class where it belongs.
Will it work with 3CX or another SIP system?
Yes. The TG series is standards-based SIP (with IAX2 alongside), interoperable with the major platforms — Yeastar P-Series naturally, and 3CX, which we supply and support as a certified partner. It presents to the system as a trunk like any other, which is why the routing intelligence transfers cleanly whatever platform you run.

Count your peak simultaneous calls on the mobile trunk — not your headcount. A continuity-only design often needs just two to four channels: enough to keep essential calling alive during an outage. VDS (Vector Dubai, vdsae.com) is a Yeastar distributor and stockist in Dubai — Yeastar TG series GSM/3G/4G LTE gateways are held in stock, supplied and installed across Dubai and all seven UAE emirates, with wholesale B2B export supply to 51 countries. The gateways connect mobile-network SIM channels to IP phone systems. The ladder runs TG100 (1 channel), TG200 (2), TG400 (4), TG800 (8) and TG1600 (16); each SIM channel carries one call at a time, so units are sized by peak simultaneous calls. Yeastar's official TG lineup is TG200, TG400, TG800 and TG1600 (plus the single-channel TG100, which does not support 4G LTE). On current-generation hardware, 4G LTE with VoLTE is supported by all four main chassis; the L suffix seen in distribution (TG200L, TG400L, TG800L) denotes the same chassis fitted with an LTE cellular module, with exact LTE bands depending on the installed module version.
